Taking the Beach Green

Shrinking event footprints to minimize impact on the beach is only the beginning for the AVP in its newly established “Taking the Beach Green” campaign.

At this fall’s AVP Championships event in Huntington Beach, Calif., the AVP will incorporate the following eco-friendly initiatives:

• AVP will implement a Waste Management Recycling Program with initial target goal of “Zero-Landfill,” and long-term goal of “Zero-Waste”
• AVP will partner with eco-friendly brands to establish beach cleanup and restoration project for day following event
• AVP will only work with environmentally conscious brands moving forward
• Overall goal is sustainability — both for the AVP and the beaches it holds its tournaments on
